Entrepreneurial women often face a multitude of challenges when starting a service-based company. These challenges can include the struggle to secure funding, difficulty in finding and retaining clients, and the challenge of balancing work and personal life. Additionally, female entrepreneurs may face discrimination or bias in the business world, which can make it even more difficult to get their business off the ground. Despite these challenges, many female entrepreneurs are persevering and finding success by leveraging their unique skills and experiences. How can we stay motivated amidst the struggles of starting a business?
It's easy to get caught up looking at other established businesses and think 'why isn't mine like that?' I believe this is all part of the process but the key is to use it as motivation to keep pushing forward with yours! if anything, it should tell you that it is possible and if you realistically look at what stage you are at in building your business, you will know that the hardest part is getting your new business off the ground! This is by far the most challenging part. Nothing is guaranteed and while you might hustle your butt off, you can still end up with no tangible results. They say it takes a couple of years to build business momentum and no doubt all those successful businesses that you have canvased, have gone through this gritty phase themselves.
Connections are everything! The old 'it's not what you know, it's who you know' reigns true. You have to utilise all your connections to leverage some potential business. You have to get your hustle on! In the background of all of this, you have to remain relentless and consistent in your efforts and actions, and be practising the power of positive thinking! It's the combination of mental and physical strength that will pull you through the tough and challenging times. You know it is possible, others have shown you this in their success - so why not you? This will depend on you! You can either keep going or throw the towel in, but nothing worth having comes easy. I am at this stage now. I am hustling my butt off, reaching out to connections, establishing new connections and then practising the power of positive thinking. I've planted some seeds and I must believe that they will grow, especially as I attend to them daily! I'm thinking about what else I can do to take my business to the next level. I'm always thinking. Right now, I'm contemplating going back to university to do my PhD. If you want something bad enough you have to ask yourself, what am I prepared to do and sacrifice to get it? Food for thought!
Till next time,
Yasmin.
